Skip breakfast at your hotel and save room for the array of delicious food you eat on this tour that begins with pickup from your hotel. Head to Pantai Segara Sanur, where Warung Men Weti is already crowded with locals and tourists. As you explore, sample dishes such as betutu, deep-fried crispy chicken skin, half egg topped with hot tomato sambal, blanched cassava leaves, and fried peanuts.
Afterward, transfer Batubulan village to witness probably the most well-known dance in Bali, Barong. It is a storytelling dance that narrates the fight between good and evil. All the performers wear unique and colorful masks making for a bright and fun performance.
Then drive onward to Ubud, pay a short visit to the monkey forest—home to a healthy population of long-tailed macaques. Continue to the heart of Ubud where you have your lunch at the most popular warung on the entire island of Bali, Warung Babi Guling Bu Oka. They serve the most-famed Balinese dishes including babi guling, a Balinese-style, whole-roasted and stuffed suckling pig.
Next, visit the local market and Ubud Palace. The royal family still lives in the palace, and at night, the garden is used for staging some of Bali’s most important dances, such as the Legong Dance, Barong Dance, and Ramayana and Mahabharata ballets.
Continue to the Elephant Cave, Goa Gajah. The cave was built in the 9th century and the addition of the bathing place dates back to the 1950’s. At the end of the afternoon, you are conveniently transferred back to your hotel.
