Tanjung Benoa Activities

What to Do in Tanjung Benoa

Tanjung Benoa is a popular Bali destination for various marine recreational activities. Further along Jalan Pratama you’ll find water sports businesses of every size and genre. Most of these operators use certified equipment as well as professionally trained instructors and many provide insurance.

Bargaining is not common but it can happen and you’re in line for discounts if you bring along a group of people or choose several activities in one go. Make sure you book beforehand as things get crowded during school holidays, and start early in the morning. Spas come second in terms of what to do in Tanjung Benoa. Cooking courses and a trip to a seafood market can also be interesting options.

Aqua Star Bali

Aqua Star Bali lets you ride tandem using specially designed vehicles at a steady speed of up to 7kph down to 4m. At its pontoon, a 15-minute boat ride off the main coast of Tanjung Benoa, you take the dip down a ladder as oxygen steadily flows into your helmet. Take a seat, and after a signal from the instructor, you’re in control of the scooter, with around four instructors aiding and escorting you throughout your exploration of the coral gardens.

When you’re not leisurely cruising along past the colourful reefs, throughout your ride, the instructors will occasionally hand you a bottle full of fish feed with a perforated cap. This allows the tiny pellets out into the open with every squeeze. The ensuing swarms of parrot fish, vividly coloured triggerfish, clownfish and schools of angelfish around your helmet and scooter are simply part of the immersive underwater sensation. Don’t forget to have your picture taken.
