Tulip Restaurant & Lounge is a cosy semi-open dining venue located on Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak, specialising in authentic Turkish cuisine. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and also serves Mediterranean selections.
Tulip's spacious main dining area is divided into two parts, with the second featuring a more open ambiance with ample lighting provided by a glass roof. A vast lotus pond filled with golden carp and tilapias is at the northern rear section, where a small shrine also serves as a unique highlight to the landscape backdrop.
The menu presents cold and hot appetizers, salads, selections from the wood-fired oven, main courses, seafood, and selections from the charcoal grill, as well as pastas and desserts.

The Turkish cold appetizers or 'mezze' are selections of typical Turkish delights with various ingredients and preparations. Tulip serves these delights in small white leaf-shaped dishes, which can be arranged to fit into one whole array when ordered as a set (perfect for samplings!).
The hot appetizers each come as a combination of deep-fried Turkish pastries, vegetables, cheese, and yoghurt, such as 'sigara bourek' or 'mucver'. These also include an ezogelin soup with red lentils, crack wheat, tomato and herbs, to mushroom or shrimp casserole.
Among the favourites at Tulip are the wood-fired Turkish pizzas with various choices of toppings. The 'lahmacun' pizza consists of minced lamb, tomatoes, pepper, onion and parsley. The 'sucuklu pide' consists of pepperoni; the 'kasarli pide' of mozzarella cheese, and the 'tavuklu pide' of chicken breast, tomatoes, pepper and parsley.
Main courses range from premium oven-cooked tenderloin called 'ulubey kebab', 'ali nazik' lamb leg sautéed with tomato and capsicum, and the 'begendi' chicken breast sautéed with tomatoes and eggplant puree and mozzarella.
Tulip’s own special main course is the Tulip kebab, a five-hour slow oven-cooked lamb leg with aromatic thyme, boiled vegetables and pilaf. For dessert, Tulip’s own 'supangle' is a very rich Turkish style chocolate cream mousse with coconut powder.
The culinary team at Tulip is led by Fahri Karatas who has 30 years of experience under his belt, and is happy to share the exciting varieties of Turkish cuisine through this enterprise.
Good to Know about Tulip Restaurant & Lounge
The restaurant’s main dining area is located far from the busy street of Petitenget, and the rear pond and garden section provides a perfect cosy retreat.
A large bar runs down the right side, with classically elegant wooden chairs and tables scattered throughout. The ambiance is pleasingly chilled out, with the soothing sounds of classic Jazz spilling out of the speakers. Tulip also features a Jazz Night every Fridays featuring the band Apoyando.
Valet parking services add to diners' convenience, and Tulip also welcomes walk-ins, however reservations are recommended. The venue is also fit for a company of friends and is good for groups. Takeaway Turkish selections are also available.
