The St. Regis Resort’s Gourmand Deli is one of the best delicatessens in Bali with its addictive made-on-site chocolate, truffles, cakes, choices of cheese, quiches, sandwiches, fresh salads and much more. Kayuputi

Set in the elegant St. Regis resort, Kayuputi means ‘white wood’. The high-ceilinged restaurant features a two-storey wine cellar with a sommelier, an intimate champagne bar with white sofas, a fine cigars humidor, and an open kitchen where you can watch how the food is prepared by the creative team of Chef Oscar Perez. You can also opt for alfresco seating with an ocean backdrop or even reserve a private area for a romantic outdoor dining experience.

The menu mixes Asian flavours with classic Western influences, ranging from Australian wagyu beef, fresh local seafood, imported Japanese fish, organic produce, vegetarian selections, oysters, to ‘Sturia’ and ‘Prunier’ choices of caviar.

Mai-Mai

After walking around the Bali Collection in the sun, the cold towels presented upon entering the Mai-Mai restaurant are ultra refreshing and will instantly wipe away your tiredness. Their free welcome orange with arak will quench your thirst as soon as you’re seated. Next, the predominant Balinese dishes and Chinese food as well as a considerable selection of international meals on the menu are nothing but yummy! The free taxi home (if you’re staying in the local neighborhood) will round off an excellent evening.

Matsuri

Matsuri is a formal high-class Japanese restaurant in the area of the Bali Collection that focuses on grilled dishes and teppanyaki. Nusa Dua Beach Grill

Nusa Dua Beach Grill is the biggest, internationally-known, stand-alone restaurant overlooking the calm blue waters and white sand of Geger Beach. The covered area has a direct view to the sea with a separate pavilion on the left-hand side of the entrance. The menu covers pasta, seafood, sandwiches, and a variety of Indonesian dishes; but most of all, guests’ favourite is said to be mahi-mahi, comprising dates, black olives, steamed vegetables, as well as potatoes.

It may look rustic from the outside, but it still is the best choice for those who prefer the calmer eastern side of Geger Beach. Andreas Menzel, the founder of PT Sendok Bali Restaurant Group, opened his very first restaurant in 1996 by the name of Nyoman’s Beer Garden. The German Chef, after years of working across Europe, Australia, and South Africa, carries on with his high-quality delivery here by stepping into the kitchen himself.

A tribute to Bali’s rich culture in a well-maintained place is the Grand Hyatt Bali’s Pasar Senggol. Queens of India Nusa Dua is the Indian restaurant chain's latest addition, located on Jalan Pratama in the Tanjung Benoa area.

This new restaurant adds to the specialty dining array of existing venues in Tanjung Benoa, such as the famous Bumbu Bali restaurant and cooking school, and the TAO Bali.

Raja’s

An award-winning beachfront restaurant, Raja’s serves Bali culinary treats with halal ingredients. Raja’s in Indonesian means ‘belongs to a king’ and it features a royal-themed, well-illuminated wooden interior as well as exterior, complemented by the unique Balinese décor of crafts and fabrics. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors and a group up to ten persons can book the Princess room. Slavyanka

Slavyanka is the only Russian restaurant on the island. Sushi Bar Teppanyakki

Following the success of Sushi Bar Tsukiji Tei in Kuta, Chef Hideo Yamamoto opened this simple tatami-style outlet at the backyard of Sogo Department Store. Sushi Bar’s menu covers sushi sets, bowls, as well as a la carte dishes; gohan mono (rice dish), noodles, tempura, teppanyaki, an extensive selection of rolls, and much more. This small eatery may not have fancy décor, but the authentic Japanese food it serves is nothing less, if not better, than the tastes and values of big-name high-end restaurants. ‘Kokoro’ (heart) is what they use in their service.

The Balinese Theatre

Looking for a unique dining experience on the island of Gods? The Ayodya Resort’s Balinese Theatre Restaurant is definitely where to go. The concept is derived from the combination of an open-air amphitheatre and a restaurant. Waiters wear Balinese traditional clothes as they welcome guests by scattering aromatic flower petals. The buffet is ranged on each side of the stage and what’s on offer ranges from suhi, Peking duck, nasi goring, to various desserts. Live traditional acts are performed every night while guests enjoy their food and some dancers may also invite guests to dance with them after dinner is finished.

Ulam

A good reputation doesn’t happen instantly. Take Ulam for an example; the restaurant may look old and far from modern, but it’s renowned for delivering satisfying service year after year. As a Balinese and seafood restaurant, Ulam’s specialities feature a seafood basket, grilled fish, the seafood parade, the Indonesian rijsttafel (A dishful of rice with small portions of side dishes), and megibung (Bali’s version of a communal meal). VIP rooms are available and Ulam also features free transport in Nusa Dua and Jimbaran.

Warung Dobil

If Ubud has Warung Ibu Oka and Denpasar has Warung Chandra, then Nusa Dua has Warung Dolbie, serving Bali’s most famous dish ‘babi guling’. This small eatery looks very traditional and you might think that it’s just another street-food place when you pass it by; but in fact, Dolbie is a big name among Balinese pork menu lovers. One serving comes with a bowl of pork leg soup and a plate containing rice, a satay, as well as mini portions of each dish which is taken with bare hands; it may not look hygienic but that’s the way the island’s ‘babi guling’ restaurants do it.
