Ranked by Fortune Magazines as one of the best five in Asia, the internationally designed 18-hole Bali Golf & Country Course sports the motto 'where every day is a great golf day'. The par here is 72 and the longest hole is the seventh.
Though golfing means keeping your eye on that little white ball, the course has spectacular background views of the rain forest-clad hills, the Indian Ocean, and the infinite-looking green carpet with giant coconut groves, birds, as well as flowers.
It also has Callaway club and Oakley golf shoes rentals, Club Car Precedent buggy fleet with fully stocked beverage cooler boxes, Pro Shop, spacious locker rooms, swimming pool, restaurants, bars, VIP lounges, shuttle vans for pick-ups as well as drop-offs from surrounding hotels, and a Balinese-style clubhouse.
It also features Ancora Golf, Bali's only professional golf institute, and The Villas accommodation, suitable for families, golfing friends or romantic getaways with spa treatment service.
Location: Kawasan Wisata Nusa Dua. The main entrance is near The St Regis Bali Resort, Jalan Nusa Dua Selatan
Jogging is popular in Nusa Dua. In the early evenings, you will see a lot of people trotting along the beaches of Nusa Dua, or on the wide sidewalk at the beautifully manicured Bali Tourism Development Centre Complex, or along the footpaths on both the North and South islands on the eastern part of Nusa Dua. All tracks are well-maintained and surrounded by greenery as well as trees to help make your cardiopulmonary exercise comfortable.
As a high-end holiday destination, Nusa Dua enjoys the reputation of being one of the best spa areas on the island. Many resorts offer journeys of indulgence and relaxation into health and harmony in varying atmospheres. Spa centres are peppered along Jalan bypass Ngurah Rai Nusa Dua. Nusa Dua Spa and The Westin Spa have contemporary Balinese designs, while Laguna Spa & Villa present a romantic luxurious atmosphere. Laguna Spa & Villa provide an alluring couples’ villa, restful overnight spa suites, and much more with its signature ‘Laguna Kelapa Ritual’ (coconut ritual) treatment.
Meanwhile, a one-day set program of yoga practices combined with healing massage is available at The Bale, complete with complimentary vegetarian meals to enhance wellness. All spa packages here last for 120 to 150 minutes and include two-course healthy meals personalized by the resort’s Executive Chef. The Yhi Spa at Melia Bali Villas And Spa Resort houses eco spa facilities and a beauty salon providing reflexology as well as shiatsu in addition to other treatments. The boreh; containing rice powder, gingerroots, cloves, and black pepper; is the secret the In Balance Spa of Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel & Residences and is used to free you from aches, rheumatic joints, sore muscles or tiredness. Spassion in Jalan bypass Ngurah Rai, next to the Taman Mumbul Estate, claims to embrace the rhythm of relaxation with its innovative and soothing treatments such as a Fruit Bath ‘Tutti Fruiti’, Chocolate Honey, Tropical Soothing, and many more treatments. The Japanese-managed Amerta, built on Nusa Dua hill, specialises in face and hair treatments.
From Geger all the way up to Sawangan, you might want to pay a local fisherman for a lift out to the waves to save your energy for the sensational surfing there. The reef-coral waves can produce swells of up to four metres. Between the two small islands on the eastern side of Nusa Dua it often gets crowded with surfers. Non-professionals should be aware of the strong undertow and the ample distance from the beach. The best months to surf here are from October to April.
There are two volleyball fields in the area but not on the beach. Locals normally come between four and five in the afternoon and sometimes set up a small competition of up to six in a team. Nets are not regularly available, so you might want to bring your own or just ask people in the game to let you join in. Have fun!
