Warung Eny is a typical local Balinese ‘warung’ or small roadside restaurant, which is on Jalan Petitenget right next to Vila Lumbung Hotel. With fresh vegetables and spices are in assorted displays out front, with an open kitchen and friendly service provided by the Balinese family owners themselves, Warung Eny has appeal! You can get your quick fix of ‘nasi campur’ mixed rice, together with the variety of side dishes to choose from on any given day. The sambal’s too hot to handle? You can also ask for a watered-down version and they will prepare it fresh to your taste. Fallen in love with the home cooking? You can even take home some recipes.
Book a cooking class at Warung Eny and you’re up for a truly Balinese-household style cooking class. Ibu Eny and her husband Pak Wayan will share their valuable knowledge on choosing the best ingredients, properly preparing and cooking rice and how to create banana leaf wrappings for steamed meat or fish. Besides picking up new cooking techniques and blending turmeric, ginger, chili and tomatoes into your own masterpiece sambal in the kitchen, you can have fun in turning satay and basting king prawns or snapper at the front smoking grill making for a fun evening at their roadside barbecue.
