  • The Harvest Patissier in Bali

Unique Bakery and Pastry Shop in Kuta

The Harvest Patissier & Chocolatier features ultra-chic interiors and a vast selection of quality baked delights, and it’s no wonder why the brand has gained popularity in Indonesia after first setting up shop in Jakarta in 2004. The cute little chain of patisseries hit the sunny shores of Kuta a decade later, bringing its homemade pastries, chocolates, ice cream, breads and cakes with it.

The Harvest Patissier & Chocolatier, which is located just north of the Dewaruci roundabout on Kuta’s Sunset Road, is a treat for the eyes, with various pieces of artwork positioned around its large dining hall. Before the glass door entrance there is an eye-catching cart with a life-size wooden horse, and visitors almost always find time to pose and shoot here before or after their visit. Inside, subtle lighting from elegant chandeliers cast a soothing glow over the tables and cake displays.

  • Courteous staff clad in their signature black uniforms, present you with their menu, which features The Harvest’s variety of treats available - besides what’s on the cake displays. You are more than welcome to go around to all of the stations and take a pick. One side of the hall is lined with birthday and wedding cakes, made-to-order, masterfully designed and decorated in a huge variety of styles, be it floral, a Disney character theme, or anything as quirky as resembling a diorama.

Next to these are ‘cake pops’, literally small and round icing-coated cakes on a stick, together with mini cupcakes, cookies, and the tempting selection of homemade ice cream in a dozen different flavours. On the opposite side you will find The Harvest’s bakery and coffee station.

The menu at The Harvest Patissier & Chocolatier features choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner – convenient for those staying at the nearby hotels on Sunset Road and looking for alternative dining spot. A gourmet breakfast basket comprises of a muffin, croissant and toast served with coffee, butter and jam.

The Harvest’s Julienne style fries come in three different choices, either with truffle oil, parmesan cheese, or with salted fish, sautéed onions and red bell pepper. There’s also a variety of salads, sandwiches and burgers, with mains comprising salmon steak, fish n’ chips, and chicken schnitzel throughout the menu.

Naturally, the desserts are to die for, comprising sinful servings such as chocolate melt, mango tiramisu, coffee brulee, pralinette crepes, vanilla panacotta and fudge brownie. To wash them down, there are hot and cold coffees and teas, as well as frozen delights such as faluda, frozen green tea, coffee and Oreos, caramel cappuccino and mochaccino.

Overall, it’s not really a place to go to if you’re on a diet, but if you’re in for fun chit-chat with friends over some heavy meals, then all’s good at The Harvest.
