The Gate 88 Rooftop Bali

Landmark, Rooftop Bar and Clubbing in Kerobokan

The Gate 88 is one of Bali’s quirky landmarks that you can come across as you drive down Jalan Raya Kerobokan. It’s eye-catching vertical stabilizer tail of a Cathay Pacific McDonnell Douglas DC-10 looms over the street and traffic lights. Once a hip rooftop nightspot, it was long ‘abandoned’ like some of the weird grounded plane sightings you can find around the island, but ‘took flight’ again mid-2017 with a series of popup gigs, called High-Fi, featuring a mixed line-up of local and international DJs such as Bastian, Wisdy, La Santa, Carlo Davids, Giax, Kessler, Trigan, Zig Zach, Scotty Cal, and Alex Verdacchi.

One-off Parties and Gigs at Gate 88 Bali

To keep up with the latest popup events at The Gate 88 Rooftop, check out their Facebook page provided below. During these events, the venue opens its doors to the public with free entry, and amuses with a DJ stage set against the plane tail, and complemented by awesome laser lighting and sound systems that pump out the eclectic mix of deep bass, techno house and hip-hop. Access to the rooftop usually opens from 18:00 and the crowds party hard well into the wee hours. Furthermore, free-flow drinks are thrown in during the first hour to fuel up your spirits before take-off, and partnering food and beverage establishments join in to provide light bites.
