    Seminyak Italian Food is the second signature restaurant at the Double Six Luxury Hotel, the premier resort on the namesake Double Six Beach Road, between the coasts of Legian and Seminyak. Specialising in classic Italian fare, this restaurant offers alfresco settings overlooking the pool and beach gardens from the resort’s upper mezzanine level, and serves as a casual alternative to the classier, New York-style Plantation Grill. Both restaurants are backed by Aussie restaurateur, Robert Marchetti, who had a hand in the designs and menus.

    Styled as an Italian trattoria, serving 'made-to-order' breakfasts (only IDR 266,000 or USD 20 per person), lunch, dinner and ‘spuntini’ (an Italian concept of pleasurable sit-downs with light bites and fine wine), Seminyak Italian Food is great for feasts, big or small. Outside, the timber decking and wooden grilled awnings add a rustic feel while low-slung glass walls around its breezy mezzanine gives it a sense of lightness.   • While you can expect classical Italian selections on the menu, most are creative takes combined with what’s in season to ensure freshness and an element of surprise. These include a ‘parmigiana my way’ in a serving size for two persons (IDR 295,000 or USD 22), which is a savoury combination of meat, cheese and spiciness in every bite through its parmesan and lemon crumble, grain-fed black angus ribeye, buffalo mozzarella, and tomato passata. Pasta and seafood lovers will get their treat in a spaghetti vongole (IDR 110,000 or USD 8), with clams and zucchinis, including their blossoms.

    Great light bites to sample are under their selections of ‘salumi’ cold cuts and carpaccio, which are also great before heading down to the mains. There’s the dark and sweet-tasting prosciutto di San Daniele (IDR 192,000 or USD 15), with its three-year-old Reggiano served with hot pasty scrolls, or you can go for a plate of mixed salamis (IDR 156,000 or USD 12) that comes served with marinated olives and crispy grissini. Alternatively, simply go for their whole serving of small goods that gets you all the best they have: mortadella, salami, prosciutto, and beef bresaola (IDR 208,000 or USD 16).

    Forget the common tiramisu; the soothing desserts here include a multi-flavoured panna cotta and a sinful ‘ultimate chocolate cake’ (IDR 140,000 or USD 7.50), which is a layered sponge with chocolate mousse and marinated cherries, glazed with chocolate ganache and vanilla Chantilly cream. To wash it all down, there’s a whole range of cocktails and wines in stock. You can also kick back and enjoy the Seminyak sunsets with a glass of barrel-aged Negroni, Camparillo, Sicilian Sour, Pink Lamborghini, or sangria at hand. Cocktails are priced from IDR 100,000 to 140,000 per glass (USD 7.50-11), and Italian wines include prosecco, whites, reds and Moscato d’Asti sweet wines from IDR 600,000 (USD 45) a bottle.
