Semawang Beach in Bali

Quiet Resort Beach in Sanur

Semawang Beach is one of the small coastal strips that form the whole length of the Sanur Beach coastline. It also forms the beachfront of some of Sanur’s great resorts, including the Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali. You’ll find that it blends together seamlessly with Cemara Beach to its south, where both share much similarity in features and sea views. The waves are calm and great for swimming and snorkelling. The Sanur beach footpath runs parallel the coast, great for morning jogs or cycling especially at sunrise.

Semawang Beach Coastal Scene

Semawang Beach is well maintained by the hotels that share the coastline. There’s an artificial wave breaker with a Balinese gazebo at its end, where you can rest and enjoy the coastal view. The early morning seascape is especially beautiful, with the silhouettes of Nusa Penida and Mount Agung in the background. The extensive Sanur reef also protects the coastline, revealing seaweed-strewn pools filled with corals and stranded tropical fish. Semawang is also a favourite spot for weekending families. You can rent sea kayaks and floaties for the kids. Local warung stalls sell drinks and refreshments, including grilled sweetcorn and fresh young coconuts at local prices (less than a $1).
