Pantai Karang Beach in Bali

Secluded Beach in Sanur

Pantai Karang is a small section of Sanur Beach’s entire coastal length. Karang means coral in the local tongue and the slightly coarse white coral sand is named after the reef that emerges at low tide. Calm waves off a coast that’s protected by an extension of Sanur’s reef makes for a great beach scene for families with kids. Swimming, playing, and sea kayaking are the typical Sanur activities to be enjoyed here. There are inexpensive local-run gear rental operations nearby that don’t impose time limits.

Family Fun at Pantai Karang Beach

Sanur’s beach footpath runs the length of Pantai Karang. Some stretches feature tree-shaded spots where you can pull in your bike, or sit down to wipe your brow on a hot day’s walk, and take in the calm sea views. Like most of Sanur’s beaches, sunsets are wonderful here. There are two Balinese style gazebos at the end of artificial wave breakers that jut out to sea. They add to the beauty of the seascape of Pantai Karang and also serve as great spots for yoga, resting, a picnic, or simply as a backdrop to your memorable holiday photos.
