OPIA Bali Restaurant
Destination Dining with a View in Jimbaran0
OPIA Bali is a great spot to head up to up in the Bukit hills south of Jimbaran Bay, where you can enjoy an eclectic range of Asian-inspired sharing dishes, paired with innovative molecular cocktail creations, all with sweeping views over the curving bay. The hilltop restaurant also offers a wonderful setting for signature afternoon teas, or simply a place to chill out and enjoy the setting sun.
The menu at OPIA Bali features classic renditions and crossovers highlighting Chinese, Thai and Indonesian flavours – all while using mostly locally sourced island produce and fresh Jimbaran Bay seafood. Emphasis here is on sharing-style dishes, and the overall atmosphere is pretty laidback. Flavourful starters include a Thai-influenced shaved cuttlefish salad with tamarind mint and coriander, or an Indonesian-influenced shaved beef salad with lime and mint.Read More

Those up for something with a hint of Malay Peranakan heritage cuisine can opt for the beef cheek massaman curry, with caramelised coconut cream and red paste, which gives this dish a full-bodied nutty flavour to add to its tender and rich beef curry. These innovative takes on classic dishes are created by Executive Chef Nicolas Lazzaroni, a well-known figure in Bali’s dining scene, who has a reputation for successful fine-dining establishments and five-star resorts island-wide, with the likes of Bridges Bali and Uma by COMO (both in Ubud) and Settimo Cielo in Seminyak to his name.
The contrasting flavours, textures and colours of the dishes is matched by the dreamy open views, allowing for a multisensory dining experience. From the bar, OPIA’s molecular cocktails come together with a good selection of wines and bubblies. Ask the bartender for a signature ‘cocktails brûlée’, which is literally set on fire! The price range for menu items is between IDR 67,000 and 320,000 (USD 5-24). Special event set menus are around IDR 1.2 million per person (USD 90), with canapés and cocktails, multiple courses, sparkling wine and live DJs or jazz performers centre stage.
