    Spanish Restaurant in Seminyak


    Miura Pintxos Bar and Grill is Bali’s first Basque diner, located at the front of the GrandmasHotels Seminyak on Jalan Camplung Tanduk (aka Dhyana Pura Street). The restaurant features an alfresco setup housed in a two-level rotunda with its top terrace overlooking the street and hotel’s pool. Miura’s menu highlights the cuisines of southern Europe, especially northern Spain, with ‘pintxos’ in particular, the Basque take on tapas.

    The team behind Muira Pintxos Bar and Grill came up with this unique bar for Bali, after the success of Single Malt Bar and Meja Kitchen on Seminyak’s main dining street of Jalan Kayu Aya, which boasts the island’s most extensive selection of whiskeys. At Miura (named after famous fighting bull breeder, Don Eduardo Miura Fernandez), you are treated to an extensive range of pintxos, prepared with seafood, cheeses, ham and cold cuts, over choices of cold beers, Chacoli sparkling whites and sangrias.

  • In addition to offering exclusively imported Spanish cold cuts, such as Iberian hams, chorizos and serrano to name a few, you’ll also find a hint of Indonesian ingredients used in Miura’s pintxos, as the tropical waters are rich in seafood choices, therefore offering Basque with a local twist. They also take pride in their Josper hybrid char-grill, another first for Bali, which traps in the moisture and flavours of steaks, chicken, fish and vegetables.

    Among the tasty pintxos selections (USD 1.80 or IDR 25,000 each) for lunch are Eguski (Russian salad with tuna, egg, chilli confit and olives), Gabarra (egg croquette with a dab of tomato sambal) and Kaixo (Iberico cured sausage pasta with honey and thyme). The dinner pintxos menu is double the selection, with additions such as Txerritxu (smothered pig’s ear and caramelised onions) and Zerutxo mini beef burgers with crispy onion rings and tomato curry. Optionally, go for a pintxos platter with eight selections for only USD 13 (IDR 175,000).

    Beyond pintxos, there are also tuna, vegetable, chicken and chorizo bocatas, as well as carpaccio, tuna, and char-grilled pumpkin salads, catering to all meat preferences as well as vegetarians. The bar and top level deck-terrace of Miura Pintxos Bar and Grill is perhaps the best spot to be, with many selections of Spanish favourite gin and gin-based cocktails on offer.

    Or simply, a cold Bintang from the tap (USD 2 or IDR 30,000 a glass) or sparkling sangria with passion fruit, cherries, vanilla syrup and Grand Marnier (USD 7 or IDR 98,000 per glass) can work great for evening chill outs with street views. Check out their happy hour ‘Sangria Loca’, entitling you to a ‘two for the price of one’ offer between 16:00 and 19:00, and Miura Pintxos Bar and Grill’s ‘Jeuves Musica’ every Thursday evening from 19:00 to 21:00, for live music grooves.
