Romantic Dining in Ubud

La View Restaurant at Kupu Kupu Barong Villa is an excellent spot where you can enjoy a romantic meal overlooking gorgeous vistas of Ubud’s Ayung River Valley. The restaurant features unique and creative dining options. Choose its private infinity pool dining platform, with your table surrounded by a mirror-like pool and scattering of flower blossoms. Or, try the Bird’s Nest, a quiet and intimate dome-shaped gazebo suspended far above the jungle. The Eagle’s Nest is a private box decorated with candles and an open window to the valley.

Dining at La View Restaurant

Open to visitors outside the Kupu Kupu Barong Villa, each of the dining options can be reserved for lunch or dinner. A five-course gourmet Indonesian meal awaits with a European twist. Guests especially love the beef chateaubriand, while the chocolate bomb, a ball of hardened chocolate that opens to reveal a decadent brownie, is a show stopper. A vegetarian menu is also available, including Portobello cannelloni and lavender Balinese panna cotta made with fresh berries and adorned with mint sprigs.

Given the intimate setting, attention to detail, and attentive but discreet service, La View Restaurant is especially popular with honeymooners and those celebrating an anniversary. In fact, the dining option can be timed to include the sunset, bringing the romance up a considerable notch.

Prices for lunch start at USD 50 per person, while dinner is USD 80 per person in the Bird’s Nest and USD 85 per person for the Eagle’s Nest and Infinity Pool options. La View Restaurant at Kupu Kupu Barong Villa also features a split-level dining area without all the romantic trappings, but no less wonderful views. Buffet options include a mix of Indonesian and western cuisines, and start at USD 50 per person.
