Jalan Danau Tamblingan is Sanur’s major street and runs north-south parallel to the eastern coastline. Its 2.5km length is lined with bars and restaurants, various brand boutiques, and small locally-run art shops. Between this street and the beach are some of the main hotels and villa resorts in the area. A convenient footpath provides for a leisurely walk accessible directly from many of the hotels. At its northern end, where the street begins, is the Pasar Sindu Market. This turns into an extremely popular night market after sunset.
The art shops along the Jalan Danau Tamblingan Shopping Street mostly sell typical art and handicraft items of varying prices and quality. Some even feature fixed prices to save you the usual haggling. Side streets branching off from Tamblingan, such as Jalan Cemara and Jalan Danu Poso, also feature some ‘hidden’ shops. If you’re adventurous enough, you may stumble upon just the perfect knick-knack or gift idea you’re looking for on your shopping walk here. You will find a scattering of jewellery stores, tattoo parlours, money changers, leather tailors, spas, and tour information kiosks here too.

Walks Down Jalan Danau Tamblingan
Most of the art shops are at the northern end of Jalan Danau Tamblingan. As you enter halfway, south of the street, most of the hotels with beachfronts are on the eastern side of the street. It also gradually takes on a more varied dining scene, with most of Sanur’s prominent restaurants and bars dominating this section. Hardy’s Sanur is midway along the street. It’s a central supermarket where locals, Sanur expats, and tourists staying in villas love to get their groceries and daily necessities at fixed local prices.
The street then ends at the junction of Jalan Danau Poso, Jalan Cemara and Jalan Kesuma Sari. However, you can still continue on with your shopping walk along Jalan Cemara, as most of this street serves as a shorter extension of Jalan Danau Tamblingan. You’ll find even more rows of local art shops along this street. There’s also a great collection of restaurants and bars on Jalan Cemara, such as The Onion Bar & Restaurant where you can drop in for a quick bite or cold Bintang to refresh you on your Sanur street adventure.
