The Escape Hunt Experience Bali

Interactive Detective and Live Escape Games in Bali

Update: The Escape Hunt Experience Bali closed down mid-2016

The Escape Hunt Experience Bali offers a fun time and some good brain exercise for you and your team of up to five, as you put on a Sherlock cap and plaid cape then literally get locked inside a room to solve a mystery – be it a murder, a theft, or a royal family kidnapping. With an LED timer ticking overhead, your wits are put to the test as you must find the hidden clues, solve a series of puzzles and ultimately crack the case in order to successfully ‘escape’ from the room in time.

Consequently, The Escape Hunt Experience Bali offers one of the most unique activities to enjoy while in Bali. The game house is located in north Kerobokan, several minutes’ drive from Seminyak proper. Inside are well-decorated rooms that look like movie sets, furnished and decorated according to theme and mystery case. If you’re one who loves puzzles and grew up reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, then this is a great way to live out a sleuth fantasy!

Escape Hunt Bali is located across the road from the Plumbers Arms English Pub on Kerobokan’s Banjar Anyar main road, and features an ornate traditional joglo house teak door as its main entrance. This unassuming building houses a total of six game rooms with three different cases to solve. These include Poisoning in the Restaurant, Robbery on the Beach, and Kidnapping at the Villa. Before each game, you and your friends don a cap and cape to help you get into Baker Street mood and character.

The poisoning case is a typical detective ‘whodunit’ scenario, and involves the death of an Italian restaurateur, who was surrounded by untrustworthy people. Police interrogations turned out in vain, and that’s when you step in to figure out the culprit. The robbery scenario involves a group of friends who got all their items stolen on the beach. They all just arrived from Delhi where the Maharaja’s jewels were stolen. The last case involves the kidnapping of a family’s baby daughter for a ransom. All are great distractions for an hour, and you’ll find it was really worth the trip to Kerobokan.

While also great for families, it is good to know that each theme has an entirely different set of puzzles and codes, and the difficulty level is set the same for all games. You can come and play The Escape Hunt Experience Bali as a couple, or as a group of up to five for each game room. A ‘Two's Company’ package is at USD 30 per person; ‘Three’s a Crowd’ at USD 28 per person, ‘Four Friends’ at USD 25 and ‘Five a Side’ at USD 22 per person. For a ‘big party’ you can book identical rooms for up to 10 detectives and battle against each other’s solving times – great for team building.
