Eatoss Eatery n’ Bar offers a casual and laidback spot to enjoy a colourful selection of local and international delights on the famous Jalan Petitenget in Seminyak. Among the latest additions to grace Seminyak’s restaurant-lined streets, Eatoss occupies a hard-to-miss spot on the corner just before heading down to Petitenget Beach and temple, and highlights several of Bali’s much-loved iconic treats on its menu. Here you’ll find the famous crispy fried duck that is so iconic of Ubud, the typical Balinese ‘wrapped satay’ known as sate lilit, and varieties of succulent barbecue pork ribs. No need to travel all the way to Ubud to taste these great local dishes!
Right across the road from Tulola and Tribali, Eatoss comprises white painted brick walls and rustic tables made from whitewashed wood with synthetic rattan sofas and chairs. An adjacent bar features similar materials, mainly with recycled wood. The whole outer semi-open dining area is shaded by a canvas roof, letting in natural light while providing cool and cosy grazing and gathering spots with the aid of well-placed ceiling fans. The bar, serving as the centrepiece ‘watering hole’ while featuring its own design characteristics, is also manned by fun bartenders serving a wide range of cocktails and mixes.
Past the outer dining area, you can also opt to gather or take a seat in the very relaxed tropical themed room or its leafy garden. This windowless inner area has a huge dance floor as its centrepiece. Not only a place to eat, drink and socialize, Eatoss has also become a spot for dancing and late night gigs. Exciting promos and highlights fill its regular schedules, so if you’re lucky you’ll be able to stay on until late to catch DJs spinning their turntables or enjoy salsa nights which come with drink promos, such as a ‘buy 1-get 1’ cocktails and margaritas. Happy hours start at 16:00.
On Eatoss’ menu are popular Indonesian dishes, from the signature ‘Nasi Campur Eatoss’ mixed rice plate that comprises a variety of Balinese specialties with steamed rice on a single plate, to the ‘Bebek Nasi Goreng’ fried rice with vegetables and strips of crispy fried duck. And of course, you have the choices of the whole crispy ‘Ubud duck’ alone, either fried or grilled. ‘Crispy’ and absolutely ‘tasty’ sums up this dish, and with optional rice servings of steamed white, yellow turmeric, or unique lemon rice.
Another Ubudian delight you can enjoy at Eatoss and not to be missed is the tender and juicy barbecued pork ribs. Rumour has it that their secret marinating ingredient includes watermelon to give it a sweeter side. The pork simply falls off the bone. If you’re into seafood, go for the seafood platter, a feast of prawns, squid, snapper and tuna with hearty servings of garlic butter and chilli sauce. Eatoss opens for lunch through late night dinners, and is a great place to go to with friends for your shared late night cravings.
