There’s even one that perfectly frames the iconic Tanah Lot sea temple in the distance! We also include difficulty levels of each of these Bali golf courses based on their 'slope ratings' (55 is very easy, 113 is standard difficulty and 155 is extremely difficult). With modern and first-rate leisure facilities, these great golf courses verify Bali as one of world's best island destinations for golfing.

New Kuta Golf welcomes you to its international standard 18-hole championship course, the first golf course in Indonesia with a links style layout (along a coastline and often with dunes and a few trees). Its signature hole 15 is nicknamed "The Cliff Hanger" and has 240-degree ocean views overlooking two famous beaches on Bali’s southern coast, Balangan and Dreamland. Opened in 2013 and forming part of the ambitious Pecatu Indah Resort development on the southern limestone cliffs of the Uluwatu coast, this Ronald Fream-designed course's views are really worth experiencing. At its club house you'll find a pro shop, restaurant, and even a spa to help you unwind after an exciting game.

The international standard Bali National Golf Club opened back in 1991 as the Bali Golf & Country Club and became one of the unofficial landmarks of the exclusive five-star Nusa Dua resort enclave. After a major facelift and rebranding in 2015, the 18-hole golf course presents beautiful tropical flower gardens as part of its undulating greens. The upgraded course was designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright with Paspalum turf and a complete range of facilities focused at its clubhouse and restaurant. It immediately borders the St. Regis Bali Resort to its south. Budding golfers can head for its driving range with putting greens.

The only golf course in Bali that is located up in the cool highlands is Handara Golf & Resort (formerly known as Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club). This national standard golf course provides an immersive golfing experience with greens that are crafted right on the slopes of a crater between the lakes of Buyan and Beratan. At an altitude of 1,142m above sea level, the 18-hole Peter Thompson and Graham Wolveridge-designed course provides a cooler playing atmosphere compared to the low-lying, sea-facing golf courses on the island’s south. There’s a restaurant and even lodging onsite, allowing for ‘stay and play’ packages.

Difficulty level: "Standard to difficult" (slope rating: 128-139)

The Bukit Pandawa Golf Club is the latest addition to Bali’s collection of world-class golf courses. The JMP Golf-designed course is just to the southwest of the scenic ‘hidden’ beaches on the Bukit peninsula, and features 18 holes over the contour of its limestone cliff landscape, 10 of which enjoys the Indian Ocean panoramas best. The new golf course will join a cluster of new international five-star hotels also in development, the likes of a Waldorf Astoria, a Mandarin Oriental, Raffles, and a Fairmont hotel. One of the unique features is its rustic architectural ruins and an underlying natural landscape theme. Read More...

The Bali Beach Golf Course is the smallest golf course on the island, with 18 holes but a course length of 3,560 yards. It's where you can experience a more private country club atmosphere and with onsite facilities that include the Sector Bar & Club right on its perimeter. You can have a convenient break for a light meal and refreshments before or after your game. Playing here can be quite challenging, due to its smaller acreage and greens that feature a series of water ponds, garden bridges, fountains, shrubbery and pine trees. There’s a driving range onsite where you can practice your swings.

Difficulty level: "Easy to standard" (slope rating: 120-135)

    • Opening Hours: 07:00 – 11:00
    • Location: Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel, Jalan Hangtuah No. 58, Sanur
