Bali Orchid Garden is a privately-owned mini botanic garden in Sanur. The garden focuses on collecting and cultivating rare tropical orchids. Specimens are from across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Besides orchids, you’ll also find other rare tropical and subtropical plants. These range from Venus flycatchers, dendrobium, lobster-claws, and varieties of torch gingers. Visiting the Bali Orchid Garden

Find the Bali Orchid Garden amidst the rows of local garden shops along the Bypass Tohpati road north of Sanur. This strip is known among locals as a one-stop spot for buying plants for their home gardens. It comprises a variety of lush open-air collections and stalls selling tropical flora. However, the Bali Orchid Garden is the only one of its kind here that provides professionally run garden tours. Inside, you’ll encounter a world full of natural colours, with sections organized by the different species of orchids and ornamental plants.
Guided tours are available too. These will give the botanically-challenged an insight into the different flowering specimens around you as you roam through the garden’s lanes and spaces. The gardens are a hectare wide. If you’re lucky and happen to visit at the right time, you can witness from up-close exotic specimens such as the elusive Rafflesia. The gardens provide a relaxing environment and most lanes are well shaded from the heat of the day with fabric garden canopies overhead. At the end of your tour, you may be well inspired to grow rare orchids yourself. Seedling orchids in special sterile flasks are available here.
Tickets are IDR 100,000 (USD 7) for adults and half the price for children. A family rate is available at IDR 250,000 (USD 17.50) for a family with up to two kids.
