    Wacko Burger Café

    Wacko forms part of the Kayu Aya Food Village in Petitenget, a great spot to escape the heat and come with an empty stomach. Innovative burgers come with a huge variety of fillings and curious names, including The Flaming Bali Crunch (Indonesian chilli sauce doused on the bed of lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, cheddar and potato chips), Speedy Gonzales (guacamole, sour cream, pickled jalapeno and tomato chutney) and Hawaii Versus Bali (pickles, fried pineapple and local chilli sauce). Prices range from IDR 42,000 all the way up to 195,000 for the Massive Wacko Attack, a huge 500 gram stack of beef, lettuce, tomato, coleslaw, sautéed onions, double cheddar, double eggs and a signature W sauce.

    Patty Gourmet Burger

    Jalan Petitenget 147, Seminyak

    Patty is a burger spot and steakhouse offers a cosy indoor restaurant setting and a ‘gourmet burger’ dining concept. One of its highlights is the XO (short for ‘extraordinary’) Patty Burger with its signature slab of beef topped with crispy bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a sunny side-up at only IDR 72,000. For those who like it hot, try the Fire Alarm Burger with the patty topped with melted cheese and deep-fried crispy jalapenos. Its Chicken Whisky BBQ Burger is a real gourmet treat, which is a stack of tender juicy grilled chicken basted in a signature whiskey barbecue sauce, crispy onion straws, melted cheese, and lettuce and tomato. A vegetarian option is also available with grilled shiitake and crispy enoki mushrooms and rocket salad. Burgers range between IDR 66,000 and 84,000. Meat lovers will also love the selections of char-grilled tenderloin and sirloin steaks, as well as juicy grilled beef ribs and desserts.     The Butchers Club Bali

    Following its success in Hong Kong, The Butchers Club Bali is a welcome addition to Seminyak’s dining scene in Petitenget, with its signature dry aged patty burger creations, beers and bourbon. The main offering is simply called The Burger, with bacon, cheese, tomato, pickles and a special ‘secret’ sauce, priced at IDR 140,000. The usual signature side that sounds irresistible is the duck fat fries, at only IDR 30,000. Go deeper and find the gourmet selections, including the prime selection, Double Happiness (IDR 220,000) with double patties, double cheese and all the fixings between two grilled cheese sammies. For an Asian twist, there’s the must-try Wu Tang, with dry-aged Black Angus, marinated in Sriracha and topped with a pile of kimchi. A good selection of soft drinks, root beer floats and a JD cola slushy wash your feast down well.

    Black House Burgers

    The main specialty at Black House Burgers & Co is its homemade, daily baked jet-black Takesumi (bamboo charcoal) burgers buns that come with a variety of gourmet fixings. Chicken, pork and beef patties are prepared fresh daily, hence their afternoon-only opening times. These patties complement the fun-named selections, the likes of Wellington’s Bite that features red cheese, mushroom, grilled banana and eggplant and mixed herbs, or the Black-A-Bomb Plus with cheese slices, chillies and chilli flakes. The burgers are reasonably priced, ranging between IDR 25,000 and 65,000, and all servings come with oven-baked cherry tomatoes, caramelised onions, vegetable, signature sauce and potato fries or chips.     Five Monkeys Bali

    Five Monkeys on the Legian main road presents generously sized burgers with soft homemade buns and a signature, luscious honey barbeque sauce. Hearty burgers and hotdogs, refreshing drinks and cold beers pretty sum up its simple menu. The open kitchen prepares your meals in front of you if you opt for a seat at the kitchen bar, whilst there’s further space in the main dining room or outside on the porch.
