Legian Paradiso Hotel is built in two-hectare, beautifully landscaped
gardens, and offers a variety of unique settings for a private wedding
or ceremony. Both Balinese and Western ceremonies can be arranged,
however for official and legal wedding ceremonies, the necessary
paperwork has to be completed well in advance. The Legian Paradiso
Hotel will be happy to assist you in the arrangements with this.
Many couples who have already exchanged vows back home are interested
in a more unique ceremony following their civil ceremony; a personal
ceremony where they recommit to each other on their honeymoon or
anniversary. The ceremony can be arranged within a few days
and is as popular with honeymooners as it is for wedded couples,
families and guests celebrating an anniversary. A simple ceremony
can therefore be arranged with as little as five-day’s notice,
although of course if you are definitely planning in advance, prior
notice is appreciated.
When you arrive at the Legian Paradiso Hotel, our wedding coordinator
will discuss your plans and arrangements, running through the pre-agreed
arrangements and making any additional arrangements that you might
require or decide to have. During this time you will also
be shown the various locations available for the ceremony and if
required the reception and you may select the most appropriate location
for you.
A wedding at the Legian Paradiso Hotel can be a simple private
affair or a large ceremony with entertainment, shows and many other

The religious part will be performed by a representative
of the guests' own religious belief (i.e. a Priest for Catholics,
a Minister for Protestant, a Celebrant for Hindus and Buddhists
and a Penghulu for Moslems). Guests are required to
present a 'Certificate of Freedom to Marry' or a similar document
issued by their consulate or embassy representative within
Indonesia for the civil ceremony. Requirements to obtain this
certificate will be based on their nationalities and we will
advise about these upon request. There will be two certificates
presented at the end of the ceremony.

It is important to know that this is not a legal wedding
ceremony and no certification will be provided at the end
of it. It is a ceremony in which the celebrants pray for good
things such as safety, health and happiness for them both.
Please be advised that it is not possible for any persons
who are not genuinely of the Balinese Hindu faith to be married
in the Balinese Hindu Style. Many couples who are already
legally married or, for some reason, don’t wish to be
legally married in Bali but do wish to experience a Balinese
Ceremony may take part in this ceremony.
A Balinese Celebrant and an assistant will guide the couple
through the ceremony. It takes approximately 20 minutes in
total and the couple sits in front of the Celebrant with various
offerings. The Celebrant will hand them the various offerings
one by one and they will copy the Celebrant’s prayer
movements with each offering received. Towards the end of
the ceremony the couple feeds each other a small portion of
offering prepared by the Celebrant as a symbolic gesture of
union. It is preferred that at the Balinese Blessing
Ceremony, couples are dressed in Balinese Costume.
