The Spa is set within the landscaped grounds of Sanur’s first five-star hotel, the renowned Grand Bali Beach. Established in 1966 and marking a new era in tourism for Bali, this historical landmark hotel complex covers 45-hectares with over 500 guest rooms, a selection of restaurants and a 9-hole golf course.
Enclosed in a charming Balinese garden bursting with tropical flora and decorative ponds, the Spa overlooks the main swimming pool and is just meters away from Sanur’s white sandy beachfront. The gentle sounds of waves lapping upon the shore line can be heard from the spa facility and creates a peaceful backdrop for treatments. The Spa lobby is a stunning piece of architecture and features a high circular ceiling diorama depicting painted scenes of daily Balinese life.
A total of 12 individual treatment rooms are tastefully appointed and are appropriately named after species of local flowers. A rustic pathway winds its way through the garden linking all structures, which includes treatment rooms, two separate sauna/ Jacuzzi facilities and a relaxing Balinese gazebo to enjoy refreshments.

 A comprehensive Spa menu composed of personalized body treatments and a selection of massage techniques has been designed with a holistic approach towards beauty and healing. Nurturing the body and soul in a physical and spiritual manner creates an overall sense of wellness. Body treatments, scrubs and facials are based on traditional recipes that that have been part of Indonesian heritage for centuries. Natural ingredients such as indigenous herbs and spices and essential oils are utilized to treat the skin and enliven the senses.
The Spa’s signature treatment is the pampering Javanese Lulur that originates from the royal palaces of a bygone era to prepare a young bride for her wedding. Following a luxurious session in the sauna and hot/cold Jacuzzi tubs to completely relax, the treatment commences with a stimulating traditional body massage that relieves tension and improves blood circulation.
This flows into a herbal scrub exfoliation to naturally cleanse and soften the skin, followed by a yoghurt rub down that leaves the body refreshed with a youthful glow. A soothing soak in a scented flower bath and Jamu Elixir beverage completes this totally indulging experience. |
