And while you're at it, why not sign up for one of our classes and allow yourself a deeper insight to life in Bali.

Classes available include:

  • Balinese Dance Classes - Dance is an inherent part of the Balinese culture and combines religious connotation, ethnicity and self-expression in a seamless portrayal of motion and movements. Dance training usually begins at a tender age for children and there are three main types of dance – sacred dance, ceremonial dance and secular/entertainment dance. Learn the intricacies of the various dances and open your eyes to a new and dramatic Bali.
  • Cooking Classes - Bask in the world of culinary delights with the flavourful assortment of Indonesian spices as our chef brings you the secrets to whipping up a delicious Balinese meal. The journey begins with a jaunt to the local bazaar where you’ll shop for fresh, local produce and through this insightful class, you’ll learn cooking tips and glean firsthand information about the world of gastronomy.
  • Wood Carving Classes - Discover the world of Balinese artistry and how the locals create beautiful handicraft through the incorporation of local traditions and foreign influences. This wood carving session will allow you to appreciate the craft of sculpting with the natural media that Balinese are so adept at working with, and to create a souvenir of your desire.

Other amenities for your leisurely pursuit:

  • Village Tour - Located in Banjar Bindur, the village from which Furama Villas & Spa Ubud operates, the Subak Museum archives the agricultural equipment used by the traditional Balinese farmer as he worked his fields in the 1930s. The museum name, Subak, is derived from the Balinese irrigation system which manages the water distribution to each farmer’s rice field.
